Dear Friends,

I am pleased to Welcome you to the Knights of Columbus Fr. John LaFarge Council 4012 website. On behalf of the clergy, religious, lay leaders and people of our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish family, I bid you Christ’s peace!

Founded in 1882 by the Servant of God, Father Michael McGivney – – one day, we hope, to be canonized – – the Knights began as a fraternal organization for Catholic men, mostly immigrants or their sons, who longed for the support of their faith, camaraderie with fellow Catholics, a chance to serve the Church, and financial security through insurance.

Those initial goals are still there, but the Knights are now the largest Catholic voluntary organization in the nation, renowned as well for their vast service to causes such as assistance to those mentally and physically challenged, promotion of Catholic schools, encouragement of vocations to the priesthood, advocacy for Christians persecuted throughout the world, pro-life efforts, and defense of the nature of marriage and family as revealed by God.

Bishops, priests, deacons, sisters, brothers, and lay pastoral leaders will tell you:  you need something done?  Go to the Knights of Columbus.

Jesus preached, “Not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter my kingdom, but only those who do the will of my Father.” Actions speak louder than words!  That describes the Knights. They are an integral part of the community to serve in charity for Food for Families and many charities; in Unity to support our Parish by their volunteerism; in Fraternity to build a close-knit group of devote Catholic men living in the example of St. Joseph and in Patriotism to support Veterans, first responders and others. They have given Education Awards, Support to our Seminarians, Special Olympics for physically challenged people, Ultrasound initiatives, Respect Life causes, and many others.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish is a dynamic faith community that has actively sought to be a genuine home to all who walk through our doors since we were founded in 1963. Many of our men parishioners have been and are now members of the Council.

In addition to touring the Knights website to confirm your desire to become a Knight of Columbus
please feel free to peruse the pages of our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish website: https://seton-parish.org/ . As you will see, there are many opportunities for spiritual growth and pastoral service in our parish family and neighboring community. Your participation is important to us and can only make us better and more effective at being Christ in the world.

Invoking the Blessing of Almighty God upon you and your loved ones, I remain…

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Father Robert Quarato
